Chanel, fly me to the moon

…let me play among the stars

Let me see what spring is like
On a, Jupiter and Marsโ€ฆ

Yes, hands up, this is the most lazy post ever, but so many others wrote so well about the Chanel 1932 High Jewellery collection when it came in 2022 so yes, I will simply send you out into the big universe.
Amongst all the stars, planets and voids, do what we always do these days: Google!

So why post at all? Because for some reason I keep coming back to the 2022โ€™s collection of pieces โ€“ that paid homage to the 90-year anniversary of Gabrielle Chanelโ€™s โ€œBijoux de Diamantsโ€ โ€“ A N D find myself googling for the few photos one can find online of the original collection.
They are all in two words: Simply marvellous!

Caught the planetary Chanel bug?
Want to know more?

Watch these videos to learn the history of โ€œBijoux de Diamantsโ€. Part one, here and part two, here.
Read a more in depth version here.

And if you are interested in how the Allure Cรฉleste necklace (top photo) was made you find a film here.

Did you get lost out there on the Milky Way? Found the above links too UFO-like? Or you simply do not want to google?
Well, then I recommend this piece from Rachel Garrahan in British Vogue, January 18th, 2022.

All photos borrowed from Chanel.
